Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers engaged in the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
